Portfolio: definition
A portfolio is a record of a person’s education and personal experiences.
Originally, the portfolio was mainly used by artists who wanted to show their work such as photographs or paintings that could not be included on a CV. The concept then spread to other professions that also need to show particular skills such as graphic designers for example.
The purpose of the portfolio is often to support one’s statements during a job interview to show one’s achievements in concrete terms and to try to prove one’s motivation to recruiters. It can also be used to show a potential client your work.
How to make a portfolio?
The portfolio does not have a fixed form, it must really adapt to the skills you wish to demonstrate and to whom you wish to show it. It can be a “book”, a computer presentation or a video. But the list is not exhaustive and today the originality of your portfolio can also make a difference in the eyes of recruiters.
